Buyer Beware....oh, and Happy Thursday!

I think this might be the first time I feel slightly disappointed from buying something online!  If you recall a while ago, I had mentioned these shoes:

Pretty sweet looking, right?  They're vintage and from Britain and I instantly fell in love with them.  They came in last week and I was super excited!

Now, I don't have any real complaints about the shoes...they're cute, they fit like a glove, however...when I first tried them on, one of the heels fell apart!

I was so sad!  I went back to the seller's Etsy store to read her feedback, and it turns out another customer from a while ago had the same thing happen with a completely different pair of shoes!

I don't want to be negative, and it was my bad for not researching enough before buying these shoes.  Plus they're older, so of course there's bound to be some wear and tear.  I plan on getting them fixed soon (at least I hope they're fixable!), but still it's a disappointment.  I've thought about contacting the seller to return them and get fixed, but honestly I think it'll just end up being a hassle.  There's a lot of shoe repair stores by my work so I plan on popping into one soon.

I don't want to turn this post into a bitch-fest or anything, but I guess basically what I want to express here is be careful when buying vintage online!  I didn't do my proper research and this is what happened.  I'm not mad or anything, I still love the shoes.  But be careful!  And yes, these shoes will live again!

On a lighter note, let me tell you something funny that happened today :)

Brendan forgot his phone at home, so I thought I'd stop by his work to drop it off.  He just started a new job a few blocks away from my work and I hadn't had the chance to meet all of his co-workers.  So, I walked into his office and some of the guys turn to look at me, with a "who are you and why are you here" look on their faces.  I decided to break the ice and say "Hi, I'm Brendan's BOYFRIEND."

Ooops.

So, I'm pretty much awesome at being awkward.  Heh, heh....ahh.

Also, I wanted to share a couple photos from a few days ago.  We were having fun with my Soviet hat I bought from Etsy a while back.  It's pretty much the coolest hat ever.

Happy Thursday!  If you go out for a drink, have one for me!  I'm at work until midnight :(

Ciao for now lovelies!!

Oh no! Shoe tragedy!!! I would definitely complain to the Etsy seller, or at the very least let them know. You paid for those bad boys! But that's just me.

I wish I could have a drink for you and I! But I'm stuck home papering, which BLOWS. St. Patrick's Day is actually a holiday here too - we take our drinking seriously!

That sucks about the shoes, did you notice if they had done anything for the last person who had complained about it? I'm guessing it didnt say the heel was falling off in the listing? Boo!

and HA!!! I loved your intro, they wont forget you thats for sure.

Oh wow, that sucks... did it say in the item description that they were like that? Yeah shoes wear and they are second hand but it's not cool to sell someone broken shoes without letting them know that they are in fact broken!

I've had this happen with a pair of shoes I got from a vintage store in town, got a couple of wears out of them and then the heel came off one of them. I just used craft glue to stick it back on and it's lasted over two years now and is still going strong. Maybe you could try something like that?

Sarah...I left a neutral comment. The last person who had this happen to her said the seller just didn't bother returning messages. So I don't feel like going down that route. It'll be ok.

Sherix...nope, in the selling info there was no mention of damage. Oh well...

Miss Ed...I've said some pretty silly things before, but that had to be the most embarrassing yet! (lately, at least!)

Rachel...I'm keeping my fingers crossed they're fixable too.

Chrissy...I'm not sure if I should return them. I'd rather get them fixed myself. Who knows, I may send them back and never see them again...

Ouch, hopefully you get those fixed!
I'm SO awkward, it's not even funny. That's something I would do, completely make a fool out of myself in front of new people.. ugh.

Ashley...hell yeah snail mail! Looking forward to it!

Kezia...the fact that this happen to another buyer kinda makes me suspicious. Maybe it's an honest mistake, but who knows. I was thinking of gluing them as well...super glue maybe? I'm still going to take them to a shoe store and have them take a look.

Steven...I KNOW!! I'm normally ok with that stuff, but I really blew it this time. It's funny when I look back on it though. I have that as my Facebook status and about 20 people like it. Good times...
