Crafting It Up...

I've been in a SUPER crafty mood lately, and I'm love love loving it!  This past weekend Brendan, Benji and I went to Michael's crafts, and I'm proud to say I didn't spend hours in there gawking at everything!  (high-five everyone!)  Usually when I go to Michael's I take ages in that store, especially in the scrapbooking section.  I could probably spend a few days vacation in there.  It could work!  I'm sure I could fashion a little sleeping area out of felt there, beside the flower section.  Then I can lie to myself and say I'm camping outdoors....

ANYWAYS, speaking of felt, I picked up a few more colours to add to my little collection I have going on.  It's sparkly felt!  Hells yes!  As well I found some awesome jewelry charms.  I think I might have a new hobby.  I mean, check out these charms below...

I really love anything to do with Indian Gods and Goddesses.  I find the imagery gorgeous.  For the longest time I've been wanting to get a Ganesh half-sleeve.  I've been putting it off though, mainly because I do want to go to India one day, and I'm not sure if that would be viewed as offensive or not. Perhaps someone out there can give me some advice on that??

So, with some of the felt, I've been making flower hair clips.  I love wearing those in my hair, and they're actually pretty darn fun to make!  I plan on making quite a few, and here's how one of them turned out:

I can't wait to make some more! As well, they had a sale on necklace goodies, so I picked up some wires for $4.

I really like how this looks, but I'm tempted to do something more intricate with these charms.  I'll probably do a little searching online later for some crafty inspiration.

I think I'm going to participate in the little "Pay It Forward" dealy fellow bloggers have been doing.  It looks fun!  Perhaps this weekend, we'll see....  ;)

I should probably get back to work now.  Ciao!

Absolutely love the owl and the necklace! I could spend hours in Michaels, in every aisle. It's way too close to me for everybody's liking though. A 5 minute drive and some extra free time is bad news.

How fun! I would love to make a necklace that is similar. I love the twisty wire.

I bought those exact same charms! Mine ended up as earrings, though. Photos here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/51041187/goddess-earrings

I also make hair flowers - would love to compare notes! :)

Hi! I found your blog through Sabrina's InterPals :) I live in India so this post obviously caught my eye. I just wanted to say that if by a 'Ganesha half sleeve' you mean a tattoo, then no, that is not at all offensive. Many people here have religious tattoos with Gods/Goddesses on them here. Hope this helps! :)
