Hi there! I'm Amanda, also know as The Fancy Lady Gourmet. I'm a baker by profession and an avid blogger, where my focus is on fashion and baked delights. I'm a super girly girl but as most people who know me well know I have a big love for anything creepy, weird and paranormal as well.
Well, back to the sunny day! I was actually driving on the road with my mom and this white old pickup truck appeared almost out of nowhere behind us. They kept driving up really close and swerving, I think to try and scare us. I couldn't make out who was driving but they didn't quit...it was like they wanted to run us off the road. Then coming the other way another car appeared! When we turned around the truck behind us was gone and there was no way he could have turned anywhere.
The road is strange because for the first mile on both sides there are houses and it seems like any other road...and then nothing. No houses, just a lake, trees, and the bridge where there is a legend about a little girl who died there. It's said if you stop your car and throw a quarter in the creek she will throw it back. The one time we tried that we ended up getting pulled over by a cop who harrassed up for being on the road, haha!
There is also said to be a witches cult in the back woods and also home to the KKK. If you go to the lake and wander off you can see what looks like abandoned houses in the distance and that's where they are said to hang out, but who knows. The road is very creepy even during the day, I wouldn't wanna be on it alone.
Our town in general is said to house a lot of creepy stories. It used to be a mining town or something along those lines. Up until a few years back there was a road with 6 or so abandoned houses, it was like a mini ghost town. Kids would say all the houses still had stuff in it and one had a dinner table set up like the people were going to come back at any time. Nobody ever has an answer to what happened and why they were empty. They eventually knocked it down and built big new houses.
And that is my tale!

Very creepy!! I think it's so interesting how Amanda mentioned the "ghost truck" experience. My grandma and mom have told me of a story very similar to that which happened to them years ago at a neighbouring Native Reservation. EEEK!
Alright, ladies and gents! Do you have an interesting tale from where you live? Shoot me an e-mail if you'd like to have it featured! eeegadserin (at) gmail (dot) com. I can't wait for next Friday and for some more creepy stories!
Much love,
~E

I have a story about the Devil's Tree in the town I grew up in, Basking Ridge, NJ. I want to go back and take some pictures so I can tell you about it! I had a huge collection of the Weird NJ magazines but they all got ruined in a flood =*(

Everyone...Thanks for checking out this series! I can't say enough how happy I am with the response!
MJonas...I'm here to make friends and connections, not to just be someone's follower. Thanks anways...
Usually I'm not interested in this paranormal type of stuff just cause every creepy story I hear ends up with myself being freaked out at night thinking about them. Lol. This blog, however, gives a warm kind of feeling so its not as creepy. ^^ I can't wait for more! I enjoy visiting your blog. Have a nice day. :D
Nassi...I use to get so freaked out by creepy stories too! There was a time a few years ago my little sister and I were always checking out creepy ghost hunting photos online and then we'd get soooo scared, haha! I find it so fascinating. Thanks for stopping by :D
This was great. I am already waiting for next Friday! Love this feature. I have a couple of stories from my home town, but since it's 13 hours away I would have a hard time getting pictures for it, otherwise I would email you a few stories.
I love this new feature, and loved Amanda's stories and photos - VERY creepy about the ghost truck, definitely wouldn't want to drive down that road on my own!
xxx
Best series ever!
I already loved this story, but I am really glad you linked it up to the Storytellers Blog Hop this weekend! I hope you found some great new reads and that you had a good weekend :) All the best!
Oooooo! This is a great idea!! I live in one of the most paranormally active areas of the US. I'd love to share a story or two. Narrowing them down is going to be the problem lol. :)
Oh man, that truck story gives me the creeps. Big time! But I'll keep coming back for more, haha. Wales has a buttload of ghost stories. I'll have to dig around for some good ones for you.
i just really need to tell you something.
i've just now been introduced to this AMAZING series that you're doing. i follow you and clicked on your blog and skimmed through and saw these and i HAD to read them all.

i love it. can't wait for more. (and so far every single person has shared their story in such a captivating way! ah you hardly find that in blogs these days. they write so well!)
