So I finally decided to trim my bangs. For a while I had them styled at an angle, and for ages I've wanted short, blunt bangs. My friend Megan is a hair dresser and also thought it was time for me to take the plunge into the wonderful world of Bettie bangs, as we like to call them. (You know...Bettie Page?)
This is going to take some getting use to. I almost feel naked with my bangs so short. Weird...
Yep, that's them. I'm enjoying it so far.
Also, I wanted to bring something to your attention....
My idea for a new feature is something I haven't come across before. Its tentative title is "Folklore Friday"...basically, I'm interested in hearing about urban legends where some of you awesome folks live! I've always had a fascination with the unknown, the paranormal, urban legends, and all that jazz. Histories of towns as well. I'm sure most of us are intrigued by a good legend or ghost story or what have you. So, the question is... do you have any interesting tales about your towns?
I'm really hoping this feature will work out. I think it'd be neat and fun!
Let me know what you think, I'm open to all suggestions.
I gotta head out and pick up my kid sister now, we're having a sleep over. Should be interesting!

I love your hair! I have quite a short fringe now too, I cut it myself because my hair was way too long:P I wouldn't be comfortable with cutting my fringe/bangs so short though, although I'd love to have hair like Bettie Page!
London (and the UK in general) has lots of old places that are supposed to be haunted; pubs, theatres, castles, streets where Jack the Ripper sought out his victims, The Tower of London of course (where more than 1000 people have been beheaded)...I love these stories and I watch Haunted tv shows, but I myself haven't experienced anything, although I do believe in it!;)
Back home, in Mariehamn, a friend told me about a house somewhere isolated, where it looks like someone has just left it in a hurry, with the furniture and everything left, plates on the kitchen table....it sounds a bit spooky.
There is a cemetery back home that is the source of many tall tales and urban legends. I'd be happy to share.

I would totally be up for a Folklore Friday, even though there are very few stories going around here, I am sure I can come up with plenty from Utah (my former home!)

B. I loooove the idea of folklore Friday!! I grew up in Jersey where we had the "weird NJ" magazine and I spent many a weekend of my high school life going to haunted, creepy, weird places! I would totally be down for giving a little Folklore Friday from my hometown if you want!
Your hair looks lovely. And I love your idea of Folklore Friday! It sounds completely original, and I am sure you would have no problem finding urban legends to share. I know a few about and around my old home town... quite a few about Ball State University Campus, but since relocating I haven't heard of anything juicy in this area. Good luck, and can't wait to see the new feature.

I LOVE your new bangs:) and wow it brings out your eyes!! It's great on you. The idea about the Folklore Friday is an awesome idea and I bet it will go over well. I know where we live we have many ghost towns near us and one of the old prisons in a town near us is VERY haunted-it was featured on one of the true life stories on I think it was the history channel. That kind of stuff really fascinates me. You'll have to look it up online-Old Deer Lodge Prison in Montana--pretty interesting.
