Pssst...Photographers! Check this out...

I came across this video yesterday and my mind was blown.  I'm sure a lot of you have come across HDR photography (high dynamic range), it seems to be more and more popular lately.  Here's a photo for you to see what exactly I mean:

Pretty intense looking, right?  Well, my mind was blown when I found out you can do this with video.  HO. LEE.  SHIT.  As some of you may know, I love anything to do with videography/cinematography, and this is amazing!  Basically, HDR video is done by placing 2 cameras side my side, one being underexposed, the other overexposed.  From there you layer the two videos together.

Watch this and you'll see!

Maybe I'm getting a bit too overzealous with this, but I really think this is going to take film making to  a whole other level.

As well, I wanted to share this little short film.  It was photographed hdr, and the images strung together to create the illusion of this being motion, not photos. It's such a simple concept and very well executed. (If you can full screen this, I encourage it.)

TheChapel. A short film. (HDR timelapse) from Patryk Kizny on Vimeo.

Amazing, right?  I can't wait to get my hands on a brand spankin' new camera.  I want to try this so bad!

Later gators!

Holy shit that is amazing! I have never heard of this HDR stuff - BUT MY MIND IS BLOWN. I don't even entirely understand how this works? Haha. I love it all the same.

P.S. Looking forward to your letter! No worries about the delay, adds to the excitement. :)
